Student Volunteer Program
General Information
- The INTERSPEECH 2014 Student Volunteer Program provides student participants the unique opportunity to contribute to the conference event management onsite.
- All recipients of ISCA grants are strongly encouraged to participate in the Student Volunteer Program.
- Priority will be given to students who have confirmed their registrations to attend the INTERSPEECH 2014.
- Students accepted as volunteers are expected to assist with the organization of the conference with a workload of one day or 3 sessions for the entire conference. Upon successful completion, the student will receive a Certificate of Student Volunteer Service.
- Approximately 100 volunteers are needed and all student registrants are eligible to apply. The Student Volunteer Program coordinator is Dr. Dongyan Huang (Email:huang@i2r.a-star.edu.sg).
Benefits
- Each student volunteer will receive free INTERSPEECH 2014 T-shirts to wear when on duty
- Lunch will be provided if on duty
- Opportunity to meet, learn and network with experts
- Opportunity to gain experience and acquire leadership skills in organizing social events
Duties of Volunteers
Student volunteers will be involved in matters including, but not limited to
- Registration
- Logistics
- Usher for both social and technical events
Specific duties will be informed nearer to the conference.

Application Details
Students who are interested in serving as volunteers are invited to send their applications with the following information:
- Name and affiliation
- Contact information (address, email and phone)
- Short bio (no more than 300 words)
- Proof of full-time student status (e.g. a copy of student ID)
- Tentative conference sessions and dates for volunteer service (e.g. 1 day or 3 sessions)
- Tentative travel plan (dates of arrival and departure)
- Area of volunteer work, if any
